Alexa Gallagher, a 6-1 forward who plays for Germantown Academy
near Philadelphia gave DePaul women's coach Doug Bruno a verbal
commitment Wednesday. Gallagher, a standout for the Philadelphia Belles
said that she "knew"after making an unofficial visit to DePaul before Bruno
left to go overseas as an assistant coach for Team USA, which won the
women's world championship on Sunday. "I really enjoyed the players and
the coaches and knew that [DePaul]was the right place for me,
" Gallagher said. "And being from Philly, I like being in a big city."
Gallagher, the second player DePaul has landed in the Class of 2015
joining Whitney Young point guard Chanise Jenkins, plans to make
an official visit to Chicago before the November signing date.
